After three years of evolutionary development and building on the foundation of the original and extremely popular Typhoon, PrimoChill has taken a revolutionary leap forward with the introduction of the Typhoon III Reservoir System--proof positive the third time really is the charm. Designed by a pro case modder FOR case modders, Typhoon III is the perfect marriage of performance, reliability, ease of installation, and day-to-day usability with a huge helping of "modability" added to the mix. The heart of that performance is the most popular and reliable DC pump on the planet--the D5--which we mated to the easiest to install and easiest to fill and bleed reservoir ever made. It doesn't matter if you're just starting on your first modding adventure, or if the word hardcore bounces off of you like a cotton ball--Typhoon III is the best Pump and Reservoir choice you will ever make.

*Features* of the Typhoon III PEC were carefully planned, designed and executed to perfection.

*Fill/Bleed Trap*
Located in the front is an overflow basin where two recessed G1/4 tapped holes are ready for filling and draining operations. The inside of the reservoir has a domed shape that eliminates trapped air spaces completely--allowing you to easily and safely fill the reservoir and your cooling loop 100% full. To fill the system initially or to bleed off trapped air, simply roll the case onto its back which makes the reservoir the highest point in the loop and remove the plugs and fill. Because there are TWO plugs, any displaced air can easily escape. Periodically repeat the procedure to remove any trapped air that may accumulate in the reservoir from your loops. Users wanting to drain the loop can easily do so by tilting the case onto its face--making the reservoir the lowest point in the loop. Because the drain holes are threaded G ¼, you can also add a temporary fitting and a length of scrap tubing running to a bucket. Again, because of the domed inner surface, users can drain the loop 100% dry which is helpful for flushing any accumulated particulates.

*Pump Expansion Chamber (PEC)*
This version of the Typhoon III reservoir system features TWO outlet ports and TWO inlet ports allowing two discrete loops on the same reservoir, pump, and radiator without the use of additional manifolds or “Y’s” / “T’s” which can decrease efficiency in the loop/s. The pump housing features a full 360 degree deep-draw helix with an oversized (nearly double the stock D5) primary outlet that feeds an expansion chamber to decrease any pressure drop. The back of the housing is optimized for the dual bay upright mounting position so that water is spun up by a spiral structure that is humped (we buy it dinner first =) and ends in a very sharp edge at the inlet terminus which feeds water into the impeller at a decreased angle that lowers motor loading.

We stole a page from the new breed of fans currently in use in the air cooling segment by focusing on efficiency over the brute force approach of the past. What this means is that rather than spinning the same fans faster and faster to increase airflow, they began making lower RPM fans that are more efficient--and quieter. How this translates to water cooling and the Typhoon III is that we focused on a more efficient use of the excellent D5 by allowing users to choose a single or dual loop configuration that eliminates all of those flow choking “Y’s”, “T’s”, and manifolds that kill performance. Dual loops that are less restricted also allow you to avoid pumping preheated water from one component into the next one on your loop. Another advantage of this common sense focus on improving efficiency is a much more attractive installation that also improves airflow inside your case by eliminating a lot of clutter.
